The UK Logistics Manager is responsible for safeguarding the secure, compliant and efficient movement of all jewellery, diamonds and non-valuable goods in and out of the UK. The purpose of this role is to ensure full compliance with import and export legislation, protect DBL property and deliver operational excellence across every stage of the logistics process.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all UK cross border logistics operations, ensuring the secure, compliant and efficient movement of jewellery, diamonds and non-valuable goods.
  • Ensure full import and export compliance, maintaining accurate declarations, correct customs regimes and alignment with all legal, security and insurance requirements.
  • Lead and develop the logistics team, setting clear objectives, building capability and ensuring strong operational delivery across all logistics activities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely stock handling processes, including receiving, movement, reconciliation and audit readiness for all jewellery and diamond stock.
  • Manage carrier performance, ensuring service levels, costs, KPIs and operational processes support business needs and market standards.
  • Own and be responsible for key logistics documentation and governance, including customs records, security protocols, SOPs and internal manuals.
  • Coordinate logistics support for UK commercial activities, including store replenishment, events, e-commerce and operational initiatives.
  • Control logistics costs, monitoring spend, validating charges and contributing to effective budget management and operational efficiency.
  • Oversee packaging and visual merchandise logistics, ensuring consistent availability, stock control and timely distribution to stores and markets.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to provide logistics expertise, highlight risks and opportunities and support confident decision making across the business.
  • Provide clear and actionable logistics insights to senior management, highlighting operational risks, compliance considerations, carrier performance trends and cost opportunities to support informed and timely decision making.

Qualifications

  • Strong expertise in UK logistics operations, customs regimes and import and export compliance for high value goods.
  • Confident leadership of a logistics function with clear direction, accountability and capability development.
  • Sharp commercial judgement balancing compliance, service levels and cost efficiency.
  • Interested in luxury and jewellery and able to use this understanding to support stronger conversations and decisions.
  • Advanced analytical capability using operational and carrier data to identify risks and drive decisions.
  • Clear, effective communicator who builds alignment across internal teams, carriers, suppliers and security partners.
  • High operational discipline with rigorous documentation, data accuracy and audit readiness.
  • Proactive problem solver who works at pace and resolves issues before they escalate.

  • Solid understanding of UK customs procedures including Home Use, OPR, IPR and Warehouse Bond.
