First Line Manager

Job Overview

Pay Rate: £31,672.50 per year + £2,500 annual shift premium. Grade: RCS N. Contract: Permanent (Full‑Time), 42.5 hour week. Shift pattern: Monday–Friday, 13:30–22:00. Location: Stirling Road, Solihull, B90 4NE.

Responsibilities

• Provide logistics & systems expertise: strong Order Management System (OMS) knowledge; use Microsoft Suite and Red Prairie to run an inbound operation smoothly.
• Demonstrate leadership & people skills: proven ability to lead, support, coach and develop teams; genuine people person who listens, communicates clearly, acts fairly, and remains firm when needed.
• Be committed & direct: capable of running an area without intervention, hitting the ground running, taking ownership of the operation and staff, and driving performance confidently.

Essential Criteria

• Practical experience in a First Line Manager role or similar in automotive, retail, e‑commerce or other fast‑paced industries.
• Demonstrated leadership ability: front‑line team leadership, coaching and development, regular 1‑to‑1s and similar activities.
• Interpersonal skills: collaboration across functions and with customers.
• Practical use of Microsoft Excel for data entry and reporting, and experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
