What We Offer

Responsibilities
- Develop comprehensive Care Plans ensuring each young person has a tailored plan that addresses their care, education, social, emotional, cultural, therapeutic, and health needs.
- Build and maintain a strong team, working with recruitment teams to bring in the right people for your home and ensuring completion of company induction and personal development plans.
- Foster consultation by developing systems to consult young people about the care they receive.
- Allocate Key Workers: assign a Key Worker to each young person to implement their childcare plan.
- Maintain high standards by establishing and monitoring high‑quality care standards in line with National Minimum Standards and the Home’s Statement of Purpose.
- Handle complaints and concerns, including child protection issues.
- Collaborate with stakeholders: work in partnership with parents, carers, and other professionals to promote the welfare of young people.
- Participate in meetings, attending and contributing to childcare planning and review meetings as appropriate.
- Ensure a safe culture, ensuring children in your service are cared for at the best possible standard.
- Effectively manage the home’s commercial aspects, ensuring alignment with budget expectations.
Essential Requirements and Experience
- Passionate about making a difference to the lives of young people in care.
- At least 2 years of experience in a position related to residential care of children, with at least 1 year in a supervisory role within the last 5 years.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or willingness to start within 6 months of employment.
- Knowledge of The Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong planning, organisation, budget control, resource allocation, and team leadership skills.
- Confidence in effective spoken and written communication.
- Understanding of trauma and the needs of children with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties, including managing challenging behaviour.
- Full UK driving licence.
