About the role

As a Site Manager you will work within the North East & Cumbria business and will be responsible for:

  • Managing the site and ensuring adherence to all policies, procedures and standards using specified drawings and instructions, within budget and on programme in support of our Perfect Delivery philosophy.
  • Supervising all direct labour and coordinating the activities of trades and subcontractors to ensure efficient operations and compliance with construction programme and quality and cost standards.
  • Ensuring all work remains on programme and that all details as specified in drawings and instructions are adhered to.
  • Ensuring health and safety requirements are always adhered to in accordance with company procedures and legislation.
  • Identifying and obtaining relevant information to plan and execute the works.
  • Implementing and monitoring all systems and procedures and ensuring effective operation.
  • Monitoring, maintaining and updating all health and safety requirements and procedures.
  • Implementing and adhering to appropriate environmental controls.
  • Establishing and maintaining site set‑up and welfare facilities.
  • Providing feedback on objectives, training and development needs as requested.
  • Understanding customer objectives and ensuring good communication to the team.
  • Encouraging customer feedback, communicating effectively with line managers and taking appropriate action where necessary.
  • Actioning relevant issues raised at close‑down meetings for future contracts.
  • Reviewing and actionsing supplier performance in relation to objectives and communicating on subcontractor performance to all relevant parties.
  • Inviting and encouraging use of supplier technical knowledge, skills and expertise.

Looking for

  • Good understanding of construction techniques and a HNC/HND (or equivalent), First Aid, CITB certification and sound health & safety knowledge.
  • Experience in the main contracting market working on Healthcare, Education, Residential, Leisure, Defence and Commercial Projects ranging between £5 and £40 million.
  • Enthusiasm for projects and ability to work within an inclusive, hardworking team environment.
