  • Review and verify all transport and export documentation, including permits, declarations and booking details
  • Negotiate rates, availability, and service levels with external partners where required
  • Plan and oversee abnormal load movements, ensuring full compliance with permits, escort requirements, route surveys and statutory regulations
  • Work closely with heavy haulage specialists to deliver safe and compliant transport solutions
  • Support crane and lifting operations, including scheduling, reviewing lift plans/RAMS and coordinating with site teams and operators to ensure safe execution in line with LOLER
  • Provide on‑site operational support, carrying out vehicle and load checks, overseeing lifting activities and monitoring third‑party safety performance
  • Ensure full compliance with legal, environmental and company standards, maintaining accurate records and supporting incident and near‑miss reporting
  • Maintain transport schedules, trackers and reporting, while providing clear updates to internal stakeholders and supporting continuous improvement initiatives

The Candidate

  • Demonstrated experience in transport coordination or logistics operations
  • Familiarity with third‑party haulage, freight forwarding and specialist transport providers
  • Sound understanding of transport compliance, including load security, routing and regulatory requirements
  • Experience or exposure to abnormal load movements and associated compliance standards
  • Knowledge of lifting operations, LOLER regulations, and crane hire processes (advantageous)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills across operational and site teams
  • Proficient in IT systems, including MS Office and transport/ERP platforms; CAD/CREO awareness (beneficial)
  • Ability to operate effectively under pressure with strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Background in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or heavy industry logistics preferred
  • Safety‑focused, adaptable, and detail‑oriented, with a proactive and team‑oriented approach

Benefits
