Requirements
- You’ve worked inside B2C retail environments, or close enough to have scars. You understand complex, high volume billing systems, whether in energy, telecoms, financial services, or subscription-based businesses. Not at a surface level, but deeply enough to hold your own with a client’s Head of Billing or CTO
- You’ve operated in complex enterprise sales, pre-sales, consulting, or solution architecture. You’ve been part of deals where the sales cycle is long, the stakeholder map is wide, and the technical evaluation is rigorous
- You can translate technical complexity into clear, compelling narratives, whether you’re whiteboarding with engineers or presenting a business case to a CFO
- You’re analytical and customer-obsessed. You reach for data before opinions and you measure what matters
- (Desirable) Direct experience selling or implementing SaaS platforms in the energy sector
- (Desirable) Hands-on experience architecting large-scale software solutions
- (Desirable) You’ve worked at or with a retailer operating at scale (millions of accounts)

What the job involves
- You’ll go deep on real problems. Discovery workshops with CTOs and Heads of Billing at retailers running millions of accounts. Not surface-level demos. Proper problem decomposition, working through migration paths, integration architecture, and commercial trade-offs
- You’ll work globally. Kaluza powers OVO, AGL, ENGIE, and partners with Mitsubishi Corporation in Japan. The retailers you’ll work with span Europe, Asia-Pacific, and North America. The transformation programmes are large-scale and impactful. We’re talking about re-platforming core systems that touch millions of customers
- You’ll shape the product. You’re not just selling what exists. You’re feeding real market signal back to Product and Engineering. When three prospects in a row ask about the same gap, you’re the person who turns that into a roadmap conversation
- You’ll build something from early stages. This is a growing function. You’ll help define the playbook, the tooling, the demo estate, and eventually the team around you. If you want a well-trodden path with established processes, this isn’t it. If you want to build the path, keep reading
- Lead technical discovery with prospective and existing clients, understanding their current solution landscape, pain points, regulatory constraints, and target outcomes
- Design tailored solutions that map client needs to Kaluza’s platform capabilities, with a clear eye on implementation feasibility
- Drive the technical narrative in RFP responses and proposals. Not filling in templates, but crafting compelling, credible answers
- Negotiate scope as part of commercial discussions, balancing client ambition with deliverability
- Support and advise our demo engineering function to ensure we build compelling experiences that bring the platform to life
- Act as the connective tissue between what the market needs and what we build, translating client conversations into product insight
