Job Description:

Are you an experienced QA Game Tester with strong mobile testing expertise and a sharp eye for player experience?

This is a contract opportunity to join a live mobile game team, supporting feature testing, risk assessment and release quality during an active development period. You’ll work closely with internal QA and development partners to ensure game features meet both quality and player expectations. The role suits a proactive tester who can think beyond test cases and contribute meaningful insight to gameplay and usability.

About the role

You will support ongoing development and release cycles for a mobile free‑to‑play title. The role involves hands‑on feature testing, identifying risk areas early, and providing clear, high‑quality feedback to the team. You’ll work independently while staying tightly aligned with internal QA partners to maintain focus and momentum in a demanding live environment.

What you’ll do

  • Plan and execute test coverage across new and existing game features
  • Identify risk areas and determine appropriate test strategies independently
  • Write clear, actionable bug reports and qualitative feedback
  • Collaborate closely with an internal QA counterpart to align priorities and share findings
  • Support release quality under tight schedules and evolving requirements

What we’re looking for

Experience

  • Hands‑on experience as a game QA tester
  • Experience testing mobile free‑to‑play games
  • Familiarity working within live or frequently updated game environments

Skills

  • Strong working knowledge of iOS and Android platforms, including device and OS fragmentation
  • Ability to self‑manage workload within fast‑paced release cycles
  • Good instincts around game design and player experience, beyond surface‑level bug finding
  • Clear and concise written and verbal communication
  • Calm, reliable and focused under pressure

Nice to have

  • LiveOps testing experience
  • Familiarity with casual or farming‑style games
  • Experience using test and tracking tools such as TestRail or Jira
  • Previous experience working as a contractor or within external QA/vendor teams

Working style / behaviours

  • Proactive and self‑directed
  • Comfortable making testing decisions without full specifications
  • Detail‑oriented while maintaining a player‑first mindset
  • Collaborative and communicative with cross‑functional teams

Why join

  • Opportunity to work on a live, player‑focused mobile game
  • Close collaboration with an experienced internal QA and development team
  • Flexible hybrid or on‑site working options
  • Contract role with potential extension based on performance
  • Fast‑moving environment where QA has real impact on player experience
