Job Description

You will be paid on a pro‑rate basis depending on the rate per appliance, the number of tests, and job dynamics. Jobs range from one‑day projects to long‑term contracts.
Typical Day
A PAT engineer starts each day by packing all necessary tools and equipment into the van. On site, they test appliances such as microwaves, kettles, computers and other electrical items, ensuring they meet safety standards. They inform users of the results and explain any replacements or repairs needed. After testing, findings are recorded in dedicated PAT test reports or an electronic system, and completion certificates and checklists are filled out. Engineers must stay organised, travel between sites, and maintain accurate and efficient test completion.
Qualifications
Reliable, honest, and possessing a ‘can‑do’ attitude. Must have transport and necessary equipment, including testing instruments and measuring devices, all up‑to‑date and compliant with regulations.
