Job Description:

As a lead you will be responsible for producing and reviewing bespoke pricing analyses for material accounts across all products in Specialty Lines such as Marine, Property, Casualty, A&H and CE&RE, as well as assessing Portfolio Solution deals.

You will gain significant exposure to senior stakeholders as these accounts move the dial for whole product lines and impact commercial relationships.

You’ll make an impact by:

  • Prioritising which renewal accounts will have most value added by bespoke actuarial analysis
  • Delivering analysis with the support of a team of consultants and analysts to hit externally time sensitive deadlines, responding also to New Business requests in line with agreed thresholds
  • For Portfolio Solutions assessing additionally the pricing capability of the partner and data quality available
  • Ensuring output is well understood and feeds into Rate Strategy and Pricing View of Loss Ratio processes
  • Building, maintaining and working in partnership with colleagues across CUO and the wider business
  • Leading teams of pricing consultants and analysts, taking responsibility for the peer review and technical oversight of their work.
  • Creating, implementing, embedding, and maintaining the correct control environment in line with internal policies, procedures, governance, regulatory and legislative requirements.

Your skills and experience:

  • Depth of knowledge in general insurance
  • Actuarial or relevant practical Pricing experience
  • Excellent technology and numeracy skills (e.g. Excel, Emblem, Radar, VBA, R etc)
  • Experience of coaching and mentoring team members
  • Able to challenge standard thinking
  • Ability to prioritise and keep stakeholders updated as required
  • Ability to align with Group priorities and standards while adopting a commercially astute approach
  • Demonstrable skills in inspiring business buy-in to strategy, capability development and collaboration in order to drive operational goals
