Maintenance Engineer (Industrial Manufacturing)

Manchester

Circa £55,000 (incl. shift allowance) + BonusMon–Fri 4-Day Week (Week days/Week nights – 40 hrs a week average)

Operating within a high-volume production environment, the business specialises in producing precision-engineered components for a diverse international customer base.

Responsibilities – Maintenance Engineer

As a key member of the maintenance team, you’ll play a crucial role in driving equipment reliability and manufacturing performance. Your responsibilities will include:

Delivering planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance across siteDiagnosing faults on both mechanical and electrical systems, including motors and drivesResponding to breakdowns quickly to maximise uptime and minimise disruptionCarrying out repairs and inspections on hydraulic and pneumatic systemsSupporting continuous improvement initiatives to increase OEE and productivityWorking closely with production teams to coordinate maintenance schedulesRecording all maintenance activities within the CMMS systemEnsuring all work is completed in line with health & safety standardsSupporting wider team activities, including holiday and absence coverExperience & Qualifications – Maintenance Engineer

Time-served, multi-skilled engineering background (mechanical bias )Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills across mechanical and electrical systemsExperience working within a manufacturing or heavy engineering environmentKnowledge of preventative maintenance systems (PPM/TPM)Understanding of hydraulics and industrial systemsAbility to work both independently and as part of a teamA proactive, problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detailDesirable (not essential):

Experience with CNC machineryExposure to lean manufacturing tools (5S, TPM, continuous improvement)Benefits – Maintenance Engineer
