Second in Charge – English Specialist

Chertsey High School, part of Bourne Education Trust, is seeking a Second in Charge – English Specialist. The role is full‑time and permanent, with salary on the Teacher Main Scale up to the Upper Pay Scale (Surrey) ranging from £38,627 to £52,490 plus TLR 2B (£6,066).

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure excellent standards of teaching and learning across the English subject.
• Take responsibility for the strategic overview of the department, including self‑evaluation and the improvement plan.
• Monitor student progress and implement strategic interventions for the department.

Essential Requirements

• Demonstrated awareness of protection and safeguarding of children.
• Qualified Teacher Status or equivalent.
• Evidence of effective continuous professional development.
