Procurement Manager – Construction – Public Sector – Flexible working

I am supporting a well established organisation that is continuing to invest in its construction procurement capability, with a particular focus on consultancy led delivery across major public sector frameworks.

This is a leadership opportunity for an experienced procurement professional to take ownership of a high value portfolio while managing and developing a team. The role sits at the heart of commercial decision making, working closely with senior stakeholders to drive value, governance and performance across complex construction programmes.

Role responsibilities:

• Leading and developing a team of procurement professionals

• Owning a high value construction consultancy portfolio within a public procurement environment

• Delivering category strategies across construction and consultancy services

• Managing and advising on JCT and NEC contracts across multiple projects

• Driving commercial outcomes through strong negotiation and supplier management

• Acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on procurement strategy and risk

• Ensuring compliance with public procurement regulations and frameworks

• Bringing structure, pace and energy into a growing procurement function

What they are looking for:

• Strong background in construction procurement or construction consultancy environments

• Proven experience operating within public sector procurement

• Deep understanding of JCT and NEC contract forms

• Experience leading teams and holding accountability for performance and development

• Strong commercial awareness with the ability to influence at senior level

• Someone who can hold their own in a complex stakeholder environment

• High energy, driven and proactive approach to leadership and delivery
