Role

Role: Senior Account Director

Location: London, United Kingdom (2-3 days a week from both our Clerkenwell & Client Canary Wharf offices)

Working in partnership with our client and our large, multi-talented team, our Account Directors drive the day-to-day creation of powerful, impactful and effective comms for three of the UK’s biggest brands.

From day one, you’ll be leading and thinking strategically, developing great relationships with our fabulous client teams and steering creative comms across multiple channels, products and audiences.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING IN YOUR ROLE

  • Working collaboratively with our client teams to deliver a wide range of marketing projects across different channels always driving efficiency and excellence
  • Owning the execution and delivery of some of our bigger and more complex projects, managing run rates and client satisfaction through catch ups with project owners and the weekly account/project management WIP
  • Building strong relationships with our core team, the wider Oliver team and all your clients
  • Leading and line managing project account managers working on projects with you and taking responsibility for their delivery, attention to detail, quality and relationships, alongside setting their objectives and helping them meet career objectives
  • Escalating any service, quality or process issues to leadership team where needed
  • Leading and managing your projects in terms of profitability, forecasting, client budget management and tracking
  • Identifying opportunities for agency growth – new clients, workstreams and projects that benefit us either strategically, creatively or financially – and making them happen

Qualifications / Skills

WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WILL HELP YOU BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 7 years+ agency experience; you’ll probably be already working at or very near to Senior Account Director level
  • Experience of Financial Services or other large-scale accounts in regulated industries, such as utilities or telecoms
  • Excellent people and client engagement skills with the ability to proactively organise and influence clients, building strong and effective working relationships
  • Excellent account leadership skills with financial and commercial acumen, creative judgment, and the ability to think strategically
  • Experience across the full range of marketing channels and the curiosity to learn about and experience new ones as they approach mainstream adoption – from TV and DOOH to email and social, starting with creative concept right through to final delivery. A lot of what we do is Performance Marketing so a strong understanding of how to drive response across core digital channels is key
  • First-rate communication and storytelling skills, in person, on Teams, in email and on ppt – with a preference for picking up the phone rather than emailing
  • Strong creative appreciation with the ability to generate ideas and practically contribute to the end-to-end creative process
  • A provable enthusiasm for AI – we are AI leaders and this role will enable you to build skills for the future. We’ll want to see evidence of how you use AI – personally and professionally – and your views of what it brings to our industry
  • The confidence, empathy and pragmatism to allow you to stand up for what we think is creatively and strategically right – but recognise stakeholder demands on our client teams. You will need to be leading not just implementing
  • The ability to manage and develop junior team members
  • The personality to fit into our team quickly, build relationships and add value
  • The ambition to learn, develop and progress

Team and Values

ABOUT THE TEAM YOU WILL BE JOINING

We have around 90 people in the team, most of whom are 100% dedicated and with lots working in client-seconded roles. This role sits within our core agency team so you’ll report to our Business Director and sit within our 12 strong Client Leadership team. Every day you’ll have contact with our multi-disciplinary creative and production teams as well as our Traffic guardians who ensure we are efficient as well as brilliant.
