£65K+ Base + Uncapped Commission

The Company

An independent B2B exhibition company with over 30 years’ experience delivering high-quality international events in the industrial, manufacturing and scientific sectors. Their success is built on building long-term client relationships, strong industry engagement and a collaborative & entrepreneurial team culture. As their Italian exhibition portfolio continues to grow they are looking for a fluent Italian-speaking business director to lead the UK-based Italian team and further develop their Italian events. This is a leadership role ideal for a fluent Italian speaker with strong exhibition and conference sales credentials.

The Role of the Business Director (Italian Events)

  • Overall responsibility for the commercial growth, strategic development and delivery of 3 x existing Italian exhibitions and their associated conferences
  • To drive the continued development of their Italian events through strong market engagement, exhibitor & sponsorship growth, strategic planning and operational leadership
  • To lead, develop and mentor the sales, marketing and operations team members
  • To drive revenue growth through new business development, key account management and strategic partnerships
  • To build strong long-term relationships with exhibitors, sponsors, partners, international sales representatives and industry associations
  • To oversee key accounts and strategic partnerships and to be the face of the company in Italy
  • To develop new revenue streams and commercial opportunities including new event development
  • To work closely with the senior management team

The Ideal Person for the role of Business Director, Italy Events

  • Fluent Italian speaker with excellent written and spoken English
  • Happy to travel to Italy and Europe
  • Proven experience selling, developing and managing B2B exhibitions or conferences
  • Successful track record of delivering revenue growth
  • Enjoys leading, developing and mentoring teams
  • Strong at building trusted relationships with senior clients, sponsors and partners
  • Commercially-focussed, entrepreneurial and strategically-minded
  • Good organisational skills
  • Experience managing budgets, forecasting and reporting
  • Event launch experience
  • Outgoing, confident, driven, motivated, energetic and ambitious to succeed
  • May currently be an event director or an ambitious senior sales manager looking to take the next step up
