Who we’re looking for

We are looking for a highly skilled SIA Licensed Security Officer in Belfast who will provide a secure and safe environment for staff and visitors on site. The role involves applying thorough access control procedures, carrying out site inductions, planned and ad-hoc patrols, and other duties as directed by the assignment instructions. In an emergency, you will follow prescribed escalation and communication procedures with Site Management, Corps colleagues and emergency services. Working hours are 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 14:00–22:00.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication skills and strong customer focus.
  • A valid SIA Front-Line Licence – essential.
  • A valid SIA CCTV Licence – desirable.
  • Confidence and ability to establish and maintain good working relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work to deadlines, multitask and work under pressure.
  • Excellent IT skills including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel).
  • Ability to achieve vetting to BS7858 standards.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain surveillance of the site and carry out regular patrols, recording these as required.
  • Ensure all visitors and contractors are correctly briefed, sign in and out of the site.
  • Record the entry and exit of deliveries on site, including processing of paperwork in line with quality procedures.
  • Conduct patrols to the correct standards.
  • Set and unset primary and secondary alarm systems for out-of-hours security where applicable.
  • Comply with site waste-management procedures.
  • Complete required documents such as daily occurrence logs, shift handovers, incident/accident records and site-specific reports.
  • Familiarise yourself with assignment instructions, risk assessments and other safety documents; advise the Corps Duty Manager or client personnel on any changes or recommendations.
  • Maintain training records via the Corps Colleague Portal to keep skills up-to-date, particularly first-aid and fire marshal training in line with legislative guidelines.
  • Continuously apply your SIA skills and maintain a high level of professionalism. Keep your licence displayed at all times.
  • Perform ad-hoc duties as directed.
