Inquests Solicitor – Birmingham – Up to £80,000
A highly regarded and progressive UK law firm with a strong reputation in public sector, healthcare and social care advisory work is seeking an Inquests Solicitor to join its specialist team in Birmingham.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Inquests Solicitor to work on nationally significant, sensitive and high-profile matters involving health and social care organisations across both the public and independent sectors in Birmingham.

The Role:
- Manage a caseload of inquest and Court of Protection matters, primarily acting for NHS clients
- Conduct advocacy where appropriate, handling many hearings without the need for counsel
- Advise on broader health and social care matters, including mental health, mental capacity, safeguarding and deprivation of liberty
- Support on serious medical treatment cases, welfare disputes and Human Rights Act matters
- Supervise and delegate work to junior team members where appropriate
- Contribute to client training, seminars and business development initiatives
- Work closely with clients, including opportunities for short-term secondments
About You:
- A qualified solicitor with at least 1 year PQE
- Experienced in inquests and/or Court of Protection work
- Comfortable managing your own caseload with appropriate supervision
- Confident undertaking advocacy and case management
- Interested in health and social care law and working with public sector clients
- A strong communicator with excellent drafting and analytical skills
- Organised and able to manage deadlines, priorities and billing targets
- Experience advising within the healthcare or public sector environment would be beneficial but is not essential
