Our client, a leading commodities trading firm, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to support Front Office Technology across Gas and Power. This is a senior, delivery-focused role suited to an engineer who can take ownership of initiatives and drive them end-to-end within a fast-paced trading environment. You will work closely with Front Office stakeholders and technology teams, delivering robust platforms and tooling that directly support trading activity.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of technical initiatives – from scoping and design through to build, testing, release and iteration.
- Own and enhance front office platforms and internal tooling.
- Rebuild and improve core services, including a scraper platform and validation tooling.
- Contribute to the build of a new data portal.
- Work closely with traders and stakeholders to clarify requirements and maintain delivery momentum.
- Operate effectively across both project work and BAU support, adapting to changing priorities and multiple workstreams.
- Provide technical leadership and clear communication across teams.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Strong hands-on engineering experience in Python.
- Experience working within AWS environments.
- Proven track record of delivering projects end-to-end within a Front Office or trading-aligned environment.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to operate independently and take full ownership of delivery.
Desirable Experience:
- Experience within commodities trading environments (LNG, Power, Renewables preferred).
- Exposure to data platforms, validation frameworks or scraper technologies.
- Experience supporting front office trading systems.
- Some UI development exposure (though not heavily front-end focused). xwzovoh
