A well-established main contractor is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the delivery of a prestigious private college refurbishment project in the Midlands.

This is an excellent opportunity for a driven construction professional with strong refurbishment experience and a track record of delivering education or occupied-building projects safely, on programme, and within budget.

The Role

Reporting to the Project Director, you will take full responsibility for the successful delivery of the project from pre-construction through to handover.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing day-to-day site operations
• Coordinating subcontractors and direct labour
• Ensuring health & safety compliance across the project
• Maintaining programme and budget targets
• Managing client relationships and attending progress meetings
• Overseeing quality control and snagging processes
• Liaising with design teams, consultants, and stakeholders
• Driving programme performance and problem solving on site

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager with a main contractor
• Strong refurbishment and fit-out experience
• Education sector experience advantageous
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Ability to manage projects in live or occupied environments
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid qualifications
• Strong commercial awareness and programme management capability
