£300–£350 per day (Outside IR35; Negotiable)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join a leading MEP subcontractor on a major construction project in Oxford. This is a long-term contract role offering strong day rates and the opportunity to work on a high-profile scheme within a fast-paced, delivery-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the delivery of mechanical packages across the project lifecycle
• Coordinate with design teams, subcontractors, and site management
• Review and interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Ensure works are delivered in line with programme, quality, and safety standards
• Monitor installation progress and provide technical input on-site
• Assist with commissioning and handover processes

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Engineer within construction / MEP projects
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, pipework, and building services systems
• Experience working for an MEP contractor or subcontractor
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
• Strong communication and coordination skills
• Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent)
