Partner & Head of Corporate & Commercial

Location: Nottingham

Salary: £120,000 – £130,000 + bonus

A leading national, multi-office law firm is seeking an experienced Partner & Head of Department to lead and grow its highly regarded Corporate & Commercial team in Nottingham.

This is a senior leadership opportunity offering the platform to shape strategy, influence growth, and work alongside an established team of talented lawyers across multiple offices.

The Role

You will take full responsibility for leading the Corporate & Commercial function, managing a team of five lawyers across multiple locations while maintaining a strong personal practice.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, mentoring, and developing the team through regular 1-1s and performance management
  • Driving recruitment, team growth, and succession planning
  • Overseeing quality, delivery standards, and client service excellence
  • Playing a key role in strategic decision-making for the department
  • Collaborating with senior leadership across the wider firm

Alongside leadership duties, you will advise on a broad mix of high-quality corporate and commercial matters.

Work Highlights

You will handle a varied and high-value caseload including:

Commercial Contracts:

  • Agency, distribution, and franchise agreements
  • Collaboration and outsourcing arrangements
  • IT, technology, and licensing agreements
  • Manufacturing, supply, and service contracts
  • Marketing, purchasing, and sales agreements

Corporate / M&A:

  • Managing the full M&A lifecycle
  • Establishing and overseeing data rooms
  • Leading due diligence processes
  • Preparing disclosures and negotiating warranties
  • Advising on tax-efficient structures for buyers and sellers

  • An experienced Corporate & Commercial Partner
  • Strong leadership and team management experience
  • Proven track record in business development and client relationship management
  • Commercially minded with the ability to drive team performance and growth
  • Confident operating at a strategic level within a multi-office environment
