Electrical Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Skills)

- Work: Hands‑on electrical + mechanical maintenance (PPM + breakdowns) on industrial process equipment

We are recruiting a multi‑skilled maintenance engineer with both electrical and mechanical qualifications to maintain and improve plant reliability. You will deliver planned preventive maintenance (PPM), respond to breakdowns, and support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and enhance performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Electrical and mechanical fault‑finding on plant and process machinery (motors, drives, sensors, conveyors and other production equipment)
- PPM and reactive maintenance to maximise uptime and minimise production impact
- Electrical work – safe isolation/LOTO, testing, component replacement and return to service
- Mechanical maintenance – bearings, gearboxes, shafts, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Support compliance activities – inspections, documentation and safe systems of work (RAMS)
- Identify recurring faults and implement reliability/root‑cause improvements
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Recognised electrical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City and Guilds or equivalent)
- Recognised mechanical qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 3, apprenticeship or equivalent)
- Proven multi‑skilled maintenance experience in industrial / manufacturing / recycling environments
- Strong health and safety focus and structured problem‑solving approach
Desirable Skills
- 18th Edition, PLC fault‑finding/diagnostics, VSD/inverter experience, welding/fabrication, CMMS experience
