Community Occupational Therapist Permanent, Full time 37 hours, based in our North Team, located in either Alnwick or Berwick (office base to be agreed at interview).
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist, newly qualified or experienced, who wants to start or progress their career in a highly rewarding area of work where they can make a real difference to the lives of residents/clients.
Someone who is keen to develop their Occupational Therapy skills through involvement with adult residents experiencing a wide-ranging health and social care needs.
We have one, permanent, full-time vacancy available in the North area. The position is NCC Salary Band 7: £35,412 – £39,152 This role is equivalent to NHS band 6.

All our teams have a mix of Occupational Therapy Assistants, Technical Instructors, and qualified Occupational Therapists. We share office bases with the wider adult social care services and Northumberland Short Term Support Service meaning you have the MDT around you. We are building working links with the local Primary Care Networks to improve service to residents. Degree in Occupational Therapy Northumberland County Council is committed to supporting Occupational Therapists to develop confidence and capability within adult social care practice. All newly appointed Occupational Therapists will complete a structured Occupational Therapy Preceptorship Programme, lasting up to 12 months depending on individual experience. The programme provides supported development, regular supervision and learning opportunities to help you embed your practice, understand local authority systems and legislation, and progress towards confident, autonomous practice, ensuring you are well supported in your role and set up for a successful career with the Council.
