Finance Intelligence Lead – Insurance Consulting

A leading UK consulting and administration business specialising in the pensions and insurance sectors is seeking a Finance Intelligence Lead to join its growing Insurance Consulting practice.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a business undergoing significant growth and transformation, working with some of the UK’s leading life insurance and bulk annuity providers.

The organisation combines deep sector expertise with advanced technology, analytics, and advisory capability to deliver innovative solutions across finance, actuarial, reporting, and data transformation.

The Opportunity

The Finance Intelligence Lead will play a central role in designing and delivering finance transformation programmes for insurance clients. Working closely with senior stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams, you will help clients modernise finance operations, improve reporting capability, and unlock operational efficiencies through technology and data-led solutions.

This role offers a blend of strategic advisory, programme delivery, and client engagement, making it ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex business challenges while operating in a fast-growing consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement finance transformation strategies for life insurance and bulk annuity clientsLead the integration of finance systems, including ERP and EPM platforms, into efficient finance operating environmentsImprove finance reporting processes, controls, and working day timetablesDesign and implement finance target operating modelsCollaborate with actuarial, reporting, and analytics teams to ensure seamless business integrationSupport regulatory reporting and compliance requirements including Solvency II and IFRS 17Lead transformation programmes from mobilisation through to benefits realisationEngage with senior client stakeholders, including C-suite executivesContribute to business development activity, proposals, and thought leadership initiatives

Profile

The successful candidate will bring strong finance transformation expertise within insurance or financial services, combined with excellent stakeholder engagement and programme leadership capability.

Essential Experience

Significant experience delivering finance transformation within life insurance, pensions, or general/specialty insuranceStrong knowledge of finance systems such as Oracle, SAP, Anaplan, or equivalent ERP/EPM platformsExpertise in finance operations including reporting, controls, close processes, and regulatory complianceExperience working with Solvency II and/or IFRS 17 requirementsStrong understanding of finance data integration and operating modelsProven experience leading complex transformation programmesExcellent communication and stakeholder management skills

Desirable Experience

ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualificationPrevious consulting or professional services experienceExposure to GenAI-enabled automation or modern finance data platformsExperience delivering advanced analytics or management reporting solutions
