As our business continues to grow, we are looking for an experienced, energetic and detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our friendly finance team at our Conlig Head Office, conveniently located just off the BangorArds dual carriageway.

About the Role

Reporting directly to the Finance & Commercial Director, you will become an important part of our small, friendly and supportive finance team.

This is a varied role offering the opportunity to take responsibility for a range of day-to-day finance activities and make a real contribution to the business from day one.

Key Responsibilities

Bank Management

  • Manage daily banking transactions
  • Reconcile bank statements and investigate any discrepancies
  • Ensure financial records are accurate and up to date

Accounts Payable

  • Process and code supplier invoices
  • Verify invoice approvals
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • Prepare and process BACS payment runs

Accounts Receivable

  • Generate and process customer invoices
  • Monitor outstanding balances and aged debt
  • Assist with credit control when required, maintaining a professional and customer-focused approach

Month-End Support

  • Assist with month-end preparation and reconciliations
  • Support the Finance & Commercial Director with month-end activities

Reporting

  • Prepare accurate reports and information for the Finance and Sales teams
  • Assist with general finance administration and ad-hoc reporting as required

About You

We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and detail-focused, with the confidence to work independently while also being a strong team player.

You will have:

  • Previous experience working in a finance or bookkeeping role
  • Experience using a computerised accounting system
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to prioritise and manage your own workload
  • The confidence to work independently when required
  • A positive, energetic approach and willingness to support colleagues
  • The ability to work effectively as part of a small and friendly team
  • The right to work in the United Kingdom

Required Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in a similar finance or bookkeeping role
  • 2+ years’ experience using a computerised accounting system
  • 2+ years’ proven experience working in a commercial environment
