Advanced Manufacturing / High-Tech Production Equipment
Are you an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer looking for a rare opportunity to work in a highly advanced manufacturing environment?
We are recruiting for a skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a modern, growing manufacturing site in Sleaford. This is a hands-on, multi-skilled maintenance role with a strong electrical focus, supporting specialist production equipment used to manufacture high-performance materials for sectors such as aerospace, defence, motorsport, automotive, marine, energy and industrial applications.
This is not a standard maintenance role. You’ll be joining an AI-led, global advanced manufacturing company headquartered in the UK, with sites across Europe, the UK and the USA. The environment is high-integrity, technically demanding and quality-focused, where reliability, precision and equipment performance really matter.
What’s in it for you?
Rare opportunity to join a highly advanced manufacturing environment
Monday to Friday day shift, 8:00am to 4:00pm
Competitive salary and benefits package
A modern, growing site with high-tech production equipment
Exposure to advanced manufacturing supporting aerospace, defence, motorsport, automotive, marine, energy and industrial applications
Training and development opportunities
Supportive engineering and operations team
The chance to influence site reliability, downtime reduction and continuous improvement
The role
As Maintenance Engineer, you will help keep critical production equipment running safely, efficiently and reliably. You will deliver planned preventative maintenance, respond to breakdowns, carry out electrical and mechanical fault finding, and support improvements across production machinery, site services and facilities.
This role is electrically biased, so strong electrical maintenance experience is essential. You will also need solid mechanical capability and the confidence to work independently in a fast-moving manufacturing environment.
Key responsibilities
Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production equipment, control systems and site infrastructure
Maintain and troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, sensors, drives, motors and power/control systems
Carry out electrical testing, inspection and compliance checks, including PAT, fixed wiring and safety circuits
Complete mechanical fault finding and repairs on motors, pumps, ovens and processing machinery
Undertake mechanical assembly, alignment, bearing changes, pneumatics work and general engineering tasks
Deliver planned preventative maintenance, breakdown response and reliability improvements
Maintain accurate maintenance records using CMMS or internal maintenance systems
Support root cause analysis for recurring equipment issues
Work safely in line with site procedures, risk assessments and legislative requirements
Provide technical support to production operators and colleagues
What we’re looking for
We are looking for an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer with experience in an industrial, manufacturing, process, food, aerospace, chemicals, composites or similar high-integrity production environment.
You will need:
NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Multi-Skilled Maintenance or a related discipline
Strong electrical fault-finding experience on production or process equipment
Competence with PLC-based equipment at fault-finding level
Ability to read electrical drawings and schematics
Mechanical skills including basic fitting, fault finding, pneumatics and mechanical repairs
Experience working with PPM systems and maintenance reporting
Strong problem-solving skills and the confidence to work independently
Desirable but not essential:
18th Edition qualification
Experience with thermal processing equipment such as ovens, freezers or chillers
Background in composites, chemicals, aerospace, defence, automotive, motorsport, food manufacturing or advanced industrial production
Why apply?
This is a rare opportunity to move into a highly advanced manufacturing environment where your work will directly support production reliability, equipment performance and continuous improvement.
If you are an electrically biased Maintenance Engineer who wants a stable Monday to Friday role, high-tech equipment, and the chance to work in a specialist manufacturing environment, this could be an excellent next step.
