Lead Pensions Data Consultant

Overview

A growing pensions data team is looking to hire a Lead Data Consultant to take ownership of a portfolio of DB schemes and play a key role in delivering complex data solutions. This is a senior, client-facing role focused on strategy, oversight and relationship management, rather than pure delivery.

Role and responsibilities

• Act as the trusted adviser to clients, leading on data strategy and overseeing delivery across a range of projects.
• Lead data work across DB pension schemes.
• Advise on complex rectification projects (including GMP and Barber).
• Act as the main point of contact for clients and stakeholders.
• Oversee delivery teams and ensure high-quality outputs.
• Manage multiple schemes simultaneously.
• Identify and support further work opportunities.
• Work across a varied portfolio, with team sizes depending on the scale of each scheme.

What they’re looking for / Qualifications

• Strong DB pensions data experience.
• Hands-on exposure to data rectification work (GMP, Barber etc.).
• Ability to get into the detail and challenge technical outputs.
• Confident communicator with strong client-facing experience.
• Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Strong Excel and reporting skills.
• This role won’t suit someone who is purely relationship-led without the technical grounding.

Package

• £70,000 – £110,000 base salary.
• Hybrid working (typically 1 day per week in office).
• Flexible location across UK offices.
• Some client travel required.
• Open to 4-day working.
