About CPC

CPC is an independent project management and cost consultancy with a strong reputation across the built environment. Over 36 years, we have delivered complex, high-value programmes across public and private sectors, partnering through trusted relationships and repeat business. We are focused on scaling, with an ambition to reach £100m turnover by 2033, and value agility, pace and influence alongside the capability to operate at the highest level.

About the role

This is a genuine number two position – not simply supporting expansion but actively shaping and accelerating it. You’ll already be operating at Associate Director or Director level, with a proven track record in business development and a strong network you can leverage. Working closely with Chris Lavery, you will play a central role in strengthening CPC’s regional footprint, leading both the acquisition and delivery of work.

Responsibilities

  • Lead business development activity, using your network to identify and secure opportunities.
  • Deliver project management commissions from early engagement through to completion.
  • Act as a trusted advisor across multiple sectors and project stages.
  • Work closely with Chris to convert pipeline into secured work.
  • Support the development of a high‑performing regional team, including future hires.
  • Help shape CPC’s North West growth strategy and identify new markets.
  • It is expected you will be confident operating in complex environments and comfortable with NEC and JCT contracts (desirable, not essential), acting as a trusted client advisor while leading delivery from the front.
  • Influence early‑stage discussions, helping define scope, strategy, and programme set‑up from the outset.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary plus performance‑related bonus.
  • Private healthcare (including dental and optical cover) for you and your family.
  • Travel insurance (inc. winter sports) for you and your family.
  • Hybrid and flexible working.
  • Full support with professional memberships and ongoing development.

Diversity, Inclusion and Opportunities

CPC is an equal opportunities and Disability Confident employer. We welcome applications from disabled individuals and are committed to creating an inclusive environment with genuine career development opportunities.
