We are seeking an experienced Senior Subsea Pipeline Engineer to join our growing consulting team at KBR’s Leatherhead office. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically strong engineer to work on high-profile, complex subsea pipeline projects across multiple stages of development, while contributing to a collaborative and forward-thinking team.
The role is based in our Leatherhead office, 40 hours per week, with hybrid working potentially available.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality technical work across subsea pipeline engineering projects at various stages of development.
- Lead and contribute to feasibility, concept and FEED studies for offshore and subsea pipeline systems.
- Perform and oversee detailed engineering design of subsea pipelines in accordance with ASME B31 series and DNVGL standards, including:
- Wall thickness design
- On-bottom stability
- Free span analysis
- Global buckling
- Bottom roughness assessment
- End expansion
- Stress analysis
- Design of spools and rigid risers.
- Pipeline routing studies and preparation of specifications and datasheets.
- Supervise and check work performed by other engineers and draughtsmen.
- Apply engineering judgement to identify risks, opportunities and solutions on complex subsea challenges.
- Support and mentor junior engineers within the team.
- Liaise effectively with other engineering disciplines and deputise for the lead engineer in client meetings where required.
- Contribute to proposal preparation and business development activities.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders at a technical level, building trusted long-term relationships.
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering (or equivalent).
- Extensive years of experience in pipeline engineering and subsea pipelines.
- Strong technical knowledge across subsea pipeline design, analysis and delivery to ASME B31 and DNVGL standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously (up to 5 at a time) and deliver to strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
- Chartered Engineer status (or actively working towards it).
- Experience working within both operator and contractor organisations.
- Finite element analysis (FEA) capability, including experience with Caesar II and Mathcad.
- Experience writing technical proposals.
- Experience leading or mentoring small engineering teams.
- Papers published at technical conferences.
