Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Clinical Psychologist to serve as Principal Clinical Psychologist for the Paediatric Clinical Health Psychology Service within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS). This role is based at Raigmore Hospital and requires presence on the Highland Children’s Unit and Neonate Unit wards. The successful candidate will drive the delivery of high‑quality, integrated multidisciplinary care to children and young people living with long‑term health conditions and support families across a wide geographical area.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership for the Paediatric Clinical Health Psychology Service, including day‑to‑day leadership, support and supervision of staff.
- Develop and deliver clinical interventions, such as targeted group work and reflective practice groups for specialist nursing teams.
- Work closely with medical, nursing and allied health professionals within the multidisciplinary team and across the Highland Children’s Unit and Neonate Unit.
- Attend wards in person to deliver direct clinical care as required.
- Contribute to working groups on professional development, staff support and CAMHS website development.
Qualifications
- Experience as a clinical psychologist, preferably in paediatric health or CAMHS; background in adult clinical health psychology is acceptable.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to establish working relationships with diverse multidisciplinary teams.
- Demonstrated interest in innovative interventions and staff support within a paediatric setting.
- Eligibility to work in Scotland and meeting NHS employment conditions.
