About the Role

We are working with Kettering General Hospital to recruit an ST3+ Locally Employed Doctor in Haematology to join a busy and supportive department.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain broad experience across both clinical and laboratory haematology, working alongside a team of Consultants, Registrars, and junior doctors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver clinical care across haematology inpatient wards, outpatient clinics, and chemotherapy services
  • Support the emergency assessment bay and acute admissions
  • Gain experience in bone marrow biopsies and laboratory haematology
  • Assist in the management of haematological and oncological emergencies
  • Participate in clinical trials and research activity
  • Contribute to teaching of junior doctors and medical students
  • Engage in clinical governance, audit, and quality improvement initiatives

This role provides exposure to intensive chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and targeted cancer treatments, offering valuable experience for those considering a career in haematology.

Essential Requirements

  • Full GMC registration with Licence to Practise
  • MRCP (or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in General Medicine
  • Experience or strong interest in Haematology
  • Ability to manage acute and complex patients

Desirable

  • Previous experience in clinical haematology
  • Experience in teaching and training junior staff
  • Involvement in research or audit
  • Interest in pursuing specialist training in haematology
