Purpose

  • Reporting to the Care & Maintenance Project Manager you will be responsible for developing the baseline profile and understanding of all equipment deliveries for SZC requiring active and passive maintenance during their time in storage, construction and commissioning phases.
  • You will interact with all major Stakeholders within the SZC project such Programme Leads, Site Operations, Local Logistics Provider and the MEHA Industrial Partners (IP’s) to ensure consistent baseline information is obtained, manipulated and reported.
  • You will define, through the analysis of obtained supplier data, the frequency of both active and passive maintenance requirements and the labour, consumables, tooling & information provision needed based upon the type of equipment.
  • You will assess the facilities, utilities and other enabling services required from the Client / LLP to support the safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery of the C&M services, and will support the C&M Manager in agreeing these requirements.
  • You set up the means for producing C&M Work Packs, including the provision of information to the IPs to support their preparation activities, and the consolidation and validation of the overall C&M Work Packs produced.
  • You will work with key stakeholders to assist in translating spreadsheet-based analysis tools into the SZC selected IT tools for material tracking and management.
  • You will work within the C&M team to guide and influence C&M strategic papers, works instructions, SQEP profiles for C&M operatives, etc.

Accountabilities

  • Accountable for the development and implementation of the underpinning data for all C&M activities required for procured equipment and materials.
  • Accountable for the translation of Supplier & OEM specifications for C&M activities into the master spreadsheet database.
  • Accountable for the acquisition and interpretation of C&M requirements into estimated durations of activities and required resource levels.
  • Defining and agreeing C&M facilities requirements such as, how many work areas are required, what utilities are required to undertake C&M, what consumables are required, etc.
  • Accountable for the reporting of overall requirements to the MEHA C&M team to enable project schedule definition.
  • Accountability for co‑ordinating the compilation of the C&M Work Packs (RAMs, checklists, C&M instructions/criteria, tooling lists, consumables list (inc. COSSH assessments), etc.), securing their acceptance, and managing the C&M work authorisation requests. Initial focus will be on developing and agreeing the specific templates and ways of doing this.
  • Work with MEHA IP’s and MEHA C&M PM to define available resources to enable the provision of C&M to be undertaken for all disciplines from hands‑on maintenance to office‑based quality and HSE management as an example.
  • Support the identification and adoption of all repeatable practices from Hinkley Point C for quick adoption and integration.
  • Support QA and H&S requirements for C&M ensuring specific OEM requirements are identified.
  • Be a contributor to the overall output and related strategies of the MEHA team.
  • Have adequate cross sector experience and communication skills to be able to influence key stakeholders to achieve desired outcomes.
  • Operate effectively within a complex matrix organisation and in multidisciplinary working groups.

Minimum Qualifications / Experience

  • Previous Care & Maintenance experience preferable but not critical.
  • Engineering background required to aid integration of OEM/Supplier requirements for C&M.
  • Very strong and demonstrable data manipulation experience.
  • Very strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • Expert user of Microsoft Excel and other databases.
  • Good presentation, influencing and facilitation skills. Excellent communication and organisational skills, able to develop relationships and maintain effective networks.
  • A strong understanding in the areas of:
    • Procurement
    • Logistics
    • Material and Equipment storage requirements
    • Passive and Active Care & Maintenance activities
    • Quality and lifetime record documentation
    • Pertinent ONR Licence conditions
  • Experience of successfully engaging groups of stakeholders.

Additional Information relevant to role

  • Experience leading and developing high performing multi‑cultural teams.
  • An understanding of PWR design and experience in PWR operations.
  • HPC experience and MEHA JV knowledge advantageous.
  • High flexibility required to integrate teams delivering SZC programmes: assets in UK (Ipswich) and Vlissingen (Netherlands), with a supply chain both inside and outside of the UK.
  • Good knowledge of CDM Regulations.
  • Understanding the needs of nuclear quality and how nuclear quality is assured and controlled.
