The Role
Our purpose-built aseptic unit supports a wide range of specialist services, including transplantation, cardiology, vascular surgery, neonatal and paediatric care. We use automated aseptic compounding and work closely with clinical teams and researchers to deliver safe, timely and effective medicines.
Join a highly specialised aseptic service at one of the UK’s largest and most advanced hospital campuses. QEUH and the Royal Hospital for Children deliver nationally recognised adult and paediatric specialist care, with aseptic services central to complex therapies, clinical research and first‑in‑UK trials. This role is ideal for a pharmacist seeking specialist development, real clinical impact and exposure to advanced technologies.
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

- This is a permanent post
- You will work 5 days per week, Monday to Friday, and will be required to participate in weekend working, public holiday working, and the out‑of‑hours on‑call service.
- You will be based at the Royal Hospital for Children
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver specialist aseptic pharmaceutical services in line with legislation and policy
- Take professional responsibility for clinical checking, prescribing and release of aseptically prepared injectable medicines
- Contribute to quality, governance and continuous service improvement
- Work closely with the wider aseptic and pharmacy multidisciplinary team
You will be supported to develop advanced aseptic expertise within a well‑established specialist service.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job
Essential
- MPharm (or equivalent)
- GPhC registration
- Evidence of ongoing CPD
- Competency aligned with the RPS Foundation Pharmacist Curriculum
Desirable
- Independent Prescribing qualification (or working towards)
Strong communication skills, flexibility and a team‑focused approach are essential.
