Electrical Engineer

Salary: £47,500 – £50,000

Location: UK (Critical Environment)

Shift Pattern: Continental Shift | 4 on 4 off | 6am–6pm

Employment Type: Permanent

The Role

We are recruiting for an experienced Electrical Engineer to join a site-based engineering team within a critical environment. The role involves carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance, ensuring all electrical systems operate safely, reliably, and to a high standard. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to develop their career in a highly regulated environment with strong long‑term progression and training opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out electrical PPMs and reactive maintenance
  • Fault finding and repair of electrical plant and systems, including switchgear, LV distribution, control panels, UPS systems, generators, and associated equipment
  • Ensure all work is completed in line with health & safety procedures and electrical regulations
  • Complete maintenance and compliance documentation accurately and on time
  • Support site uptime and reliability within a critical environment
  • Work effectively as part of a shift-based engineering team

Salary & Benefits

  • Salary increase to £50,000 following successful completion of a technical assessment (approx. 6 months)

Security & Eligibility Requirements

Due To The Nature Of The Site, Candidates Must

  • Have been a UK resident for at least 5 years
  • Successfully pass BPSS and SC clearance

About You

  • Electrical engineering background
  • Experience carrying out PPM and reactive maintenance
  • Comfortable working a continental shift pattern
  • Experience in a critical or high‑compliance environment (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
  • Able to work calmly and effectively under pressure
