  • GMC registered with CCT (or within 6 months of completion)
  • Experienced in leading clinical teams under pressure

Responsibilities

What Were Looking For-

  • Youll be a dynamic, enthusiastic, and forward thinking Emergency Medicine Consultant who is: GMC registered with CCT (or within 6 months of completion) Experienced in leading clinical teams under pressure Committed to delivering safe, compassionate, evidence based emergency care Excited about service development, digital innovation, education, or research A natural collaborator who thrives in fast-paced, multicultural environments

Qualifications

  • MB ChB or equivalent
  • Full GMC Registration with a license to practise
  • FRCEM or equivalent (‘equivalence’ must be confirmed by HEE/GMC) and entry onto the specialist register for emergency Medicine
  • MRCP or equivalent additional higher qualification
  • additional higher qualification
  • Experience as a locum Consultant experience or acting up MD MSc

General Professional Training

  • Entry on the Specialist Register in Emergency Medicine, or that at time of interview the applicant can produce evidence that he/she is within six months of CCT date and is expected to achieve CCT
  • ALS, ATLS, APLS provider
  • Instructor status in Advanced Life Support Courses, MIMMS provider

Level of Responsibility Achieved now

  • Appropriate for level of experience with evidence of continual professional development, quality improvement and annual appraisals
  • Able to apply knowledge and experience to practice
  • High standard of documentation
  • Able to manage patients with on-going medical and surgical critical care needs in the resuscitation room
  • Experience in Acute Medicine and/or other acute specialty

Audit and Quality improvement

  • Evidence of completing the audit cycle or completing a quality improvement project.
  • Quality improvement training

Governance and risk management

  • Understanding of risk as it relates to Emergency medicine, with evidence of risk management
  • Reporting incidents – understanding how and when and can demonstrate examples of shared learning
  • Quality Assurance
  • Evidence of participation in Clinical Governance activities
  • Evidence of learning from an incident or event
  • Understanding own role within safeguarding
  • Lead investigator of a serious incident investigation
  • Attendance at departmental and Trust Governance meetings.

Teaching Skills

  • Experience of undergraduate and Postgraduate teaching.
  • Enthusiastic teacher
  • Organising a training Programme.
  • Written a curriculum and developed a training programme. Qualification in teaching
  • Evidence of appropriate development towards clinical supervision

Research and Publications

  • Understands importance of research and evidence-based medicine.
  • Paper presented at Academic meetings. Publications
  • Shows decision making and judgement
  • Demonstrates adaptability
  • Works under pressure
  • Evidence of effective delegation
  • Communicates sensitively with patients and their families and colleagues.
  • Demonstrates breadth of thinking
  • Demonstrates initiative
  • Demonstrates resilience
