Role Overview
We have an exciting opportunity for a Smart Waste Networks Optimiser to join the Customer Field Services team at Yorkshire Water and help provide the best service to our customers.
Location & Work Type
Location: Initially based in Bradford, moving to Leeds Valley Park summer 2026. Work type: Permanent, 37 hours per week, Monday – Friday. Hybrid working 2‑3 office days per week.

Responsibilities
- Ensure relevant stakeholders are identified and support line managers with clear communications about device rollout
- Collaborate with the wider wastewater team to explore active catchment management opportunities
- Work with internal and external communications to share delivery plans and improvement opportunities
- Act as link from CFS into the Operational Intelligence team to optimise operational demand and improvements
- Lead and support colleagues across the company to maximise implementation of successful change
- Work with commercial services to manage the AMP8 telemetry deployment contract and supplier
- Develop a maintenance strategy and programme to ensure effective device availability and data quality
- Explore opportunities for innovation and new techniques to further develop a Waste Water smart network
- Drive customer improvements through process optimisation with service optimisation teams
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience in designing and delivering change
- Experience in field operations with understanding of challenges faced in field‑based roles
- Excellent communication skills and ability to engage and influence across business readiness teams (Business change, communications and learning)
- Broad understanding of sewer network systems and associated assets
- Broad understanding of telemetry devices, data capture, and installation/deployment techniques
- Ability to be an ambassador for change, encouraging senior stakeholders and frontline colleagues to adopt proactive change
- Strong knowledge of CFS processes and system linked to day‑to‑day CFS operations, planning, scheduling and customer management practices
- Ability to work in fast‑paced delivery and manage multiple tasks effectively
- Proactive, self‑motivated, organised and takes personal accountability
- Full UK driving licence; required to travel to various locations across Yorkshire
