Job Description
The successful appointee will join a motivated and supportive team of consultants who work a six‑week cycle of hot weeks to provide consistent delivery of acute paediatric services and cover for the inpatient wards. Out‑patient services and on‑call cover to the Children’s Assessment Unit (CAU) and the Children’s Emergency Department (CED) are also incorporated. Resident evening working is part of job plans whilst overnight on‑call is non‑resident. The department has responsibility for all children admitted to the Trust and so, when on call, the general paediatricians may be required to see children in CED, on the children’s surgical ward, or on ITU. Occasional safeguarding work may arise out of hours, and the post holder will be expected to follow local guidelines.
This is a 10PA post in general paediatrics. Applicants should have a CCT in general paediatrics (or equivalent).
