Job Description:

Finance Project Manager | Leeds | Hybrid | £60,000-£70,000

This business is going through massive transformation, transforming from spreadsheets, manual consolidations and full month-end close to leverage systems, automate, consolidate and make finance at the forefront of the business.

It’s a finance function doing its best, but nowhere near where it needs to be, however, fast forward 12 months and you’ll have played a key part in transforming it.

At the same time?

  • Multiple acquisitions completed
  • Global expansion unlocked
  • And a clear expectation: this needed to level up fast

So that’s exactly what they’re doing.

New systems, new structure, future M&A and a finance function being rebuilt to keep up with it all. Now they need someone who can step into the middle of that and make a difference.

This isn’t a typical Project Finance Manager role

It’s not neat.

It’s not fully defined.

And it’s definitely not passive.

It’s for someone who can:

  • Pick things up quickly
  • Handle ambiguity without slowing down
  • And contribute across multiple moving parts without needing constant direction

What you’ll be stepping into

You’ll work across a mix of project, strategic, and core finance work.

That includes:

  • Supporting investor reporting and building presentations that actually stand up to scrutiny
  • Getting pulled into M&A and financial due diligence as activity ramps back up
  • Helping design and improve processes in a business that’s actively evolving
  • Playing a role in a finance transformation project
  • Supporting ESG reporting and governance frameworks
  • Picking up ad hoc work that doesn’t come with a playbook

There is BAU, but even that is being rebuilt. The goal is simple: take month-end from a full month… to under a week.

The bigger picture

This is a business with real momentum.

They’ve:

  • Grown quickly through acquisition
  • Been through a period of remediation
  • And are preparing to re-enter the M&A cycle later this year

There’s also a future transaction event on the horizon, whether that’s further investment or exit. So, this role won’t sit on the sidelines.

What they need from you

ACA is non-negotiable. Beyond that, it’s about how you operate.

You’ll likely come from:

  • Practice
  • Corporate finance
  • Or a role where you’ve had exposure to transactions or projects

But more importantly, you:

  • Don’t wait to be told what to do
  • Are comfortable working without perfect structure
  • Can move between detail and big-picture thinking
  • Want a role that’s broader than “just accounting”

What this turns into

This isn’t a fixed role. The business is growing, The team will evolve.

And this position is being hired with that in mind. If you’re good, you’ll grow with it.
