A large national employer in Greater Belfast requires a Senior Management Accountant to join the team on a temporary to permanent opportunity. Are you a Qualified Accountant with extensive management accounting experience, ideally within a commercial environment? Interviewing immediately.

VANRATH are delighted to be partnered with a successful engineering business in Belfast in their recruitment of a Senior Management Accountant. This is a role that is initially set for a period of a 6 months, with the opportunity to become permanent. Reporting to the Finance Director, the Senior Management Accountant will play a key role in within the finance function, supporting the delivery of accurate, timely and insightful financial information to the Senior Leadership Team. To be considered for this role it is essential to have a balance of strong technical expertise, commercial awareness and a continuous improvement mindset.

About you

  • Qualified Accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a management accounting role
  • Solid understanding of financial processes, controls and reporting frameworks
  • Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Strong team player with the ability to contribute to a collaborative finance environment
  • Available at short notice

What you’ll do

  • Preparation of monthly management accounts, including detailed variance analysis and commentary for senior management.
  • Management of month-end processes, including support for balance sheet reconciliations and accounting controls.
  • Management of internal recharges, accruals and prepayments, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Production of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, working closely with operational & finance teams.
  • Delivery of variance analysis (actual vs budget/forecast) with clear insights and recommendations.
  • Monitoring and review of current accounting systems and processes to identify improvement opportunities.
