Purpose of the Position
This position is responsible for developing, recommending and implementing cost‑effective food manufacturing projects and process improvements within the product requirements, quality standards, and sustainability platform specified by the customer(s) at a local priority setting. It includes carrying out local capital projects, developing project plans and scope, organizing and coordinating schedules, and documenting all aspects of projects such as directing outside contractors, FAT/SAT protocols, cost control, project integration into the plant operation, and training coordination.
Responsibilities
- Well experienced in industrial project management, from designing specifications with suppliers and internal stakeholders to following up installation and delivering the ramp‑up.
- Plan and implement assigned engineering projects including defining project scope, activities, milestones, contractor requirements, and plant and customer requirements.
- Lead project planning and control, including scope definition, schedule development, budget management, expenditure forecasting, and progress reporting.
- Manage CAPEX process and outcomes, including budget control and cash‑flow forecasting at site level.
- Maintain interface with Business Unit to provide project updates and ensure customer needs are met.
- Coordinate preparation and delivery of project deliverables, design documents, and bid packages.
- Prepare interim and completion project reports.
- Lead full engineering lifecycle including FEED, detailed design, FAT/SAT, commissioning, validation (CQV), and vertical start‑up (VSU), ensuring smooth transition through all project phases.
- Act as SME for Project Management, Early Management & VSU; own the VSU roadmap; mentor/coaches Project Engineers.
- Maintain and annually update site Master Plans; interface with Business Unit & Supply Chain Leadership for capital planning; support standards and ways of working.
- Review product design for compliance with engineering principles, sustainability, ergonomics, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
- Coordinate launch of new or revised manufacturing upgrades, establishing goals, training team members, and evaluating results.
- Perform research, design, and development of manufacturing processes including production flow, assembly methods, and production equipment, promoting sustainability and maximizing safety and wellbeing of employees.
