Team / Division Overview: The Passive Portfolio Management Team at DWS manages the full range of X-trackers across Equity and Fixed Income Exchange Traded Funds, as well as Segregated mandates, covering a wide range of index providers and benchmark types, from multiple ESG flavours to Thematics. With presence in 17 locations, the team plays a key role in portfolio engineering.

Role Details:

  • Carrying out daily management of the Fixed Income ETFs and index portfolios via portfolio construction and trade implementation
  • Supporting the management of client flows efficiently, negotiating in‑kind baskets with APs
  • Managing investment and risk exposures, while determining optimal hedging strategies where applicable
  • Determining optimal portfolio strategy to minimize tracking error to index, to ensure trading accuracy across corporate actions and cash flows
  • Working closely with trading desks to determine optimal execution strategies
  • Contributing to new and existing product development and process enhancement
  • Working with the team to enhance the platform with a focus on performance and automation
  • Overseeing Net Asset Value, Portfolio Composition File reconciliations and performance attribution analysis

We are looking for:

  • Sound financial markets knowledge with exposure to Index, Synthetic or Delta‑one derivative instruments preferred, but broader experience across Fixed Income, FX, Rates will be considered
  • Sound experience from either a Portfolio Management, Structuring, Trading, Index Research background, with knowledge around portfolio construction, performance & attribution, and related ETF servicing
  • Knowledge of index methodologies from key providers including FTSE, Bloomberg, Iboxx, JPM, etc.
  • Strong Quantitative Programming skills including Python are essential, additional languages such as VBA would be beneficial
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Applications and capability using Bloomberg, Aladdin and optimisation systems like Barra BPM, Bloomberg Portfolio Management
  • Educated to Bachelor’s degree level or equivalent qualification/relevant work experience
