About the School
Our school has been at the heart of our village community for the last 150 years. Children feel that they belong with us and are developed to become the best that they can be. Through care and cooperation with parents, carers and stakeholders we support all children to ‘Thrive Together’, our school motto. The school consists of Lytchett Matravers Preschool and the main primary school, with two classes per year group and children admitted from aged 4‑11 (Reception‑Year 6). Our outdoor spaces include multiple learning areas, a bespoke physical development space, a garden, mud kitchen, forest school, large field, orchard, small woodland and direct access to a Multi‑Use Sports Area.
LMPS is part of the Hillary Partnership of Hamwic Education Trust, a large, fast‑paced multi‑academy trust with 37 schools across the South Coast. The partnership enables local schools to work together to develop strong education for all children. Located in a rural village in Dorset, we enjoy countryside benefits while remaining close to Bournemouth, Poole, Corfe Castle, Brownsea Island and the Jurassic coast.
