Purpose of the role

Responsible for broader, strategic objectives across multiple projects, with a long‑term, cross‑functional focus.

Accountabilities

  • Scope Management: Oversees a collection of related projects that together aim to achieve broader strategic business objectives.
  • Strategic Focus: Focuses on strategic, high‑level outcomes and ensures the overall success of the program with alignment to the organization’s business strategy.
  • Time Horizon: Works over a longer time horizon; programs span months or years and involve multiple phases and projects.
  • Stakeholder Management: Manages a wide range of stakeholders across various projects, including executives, project managers and external clients, ensuring communication and alignment within the program.
  • Risk and Issue Management: Manages risks and issues at a higher level, focusing on cross‑project dependencies and potential impacts on the broader program or business strategy.
  • Resource Management: Allocates resources across multiple projects, balancing priorities and ensuring efficient usage.
  • Financial Management: Manages the overall program budget, tracking the financial health of multiple projects and ensuring value delivery.
  • Metrics: Measures success based on cumulative benefits delivered by all projects within the program, focusing on business outcomes, value creation and alignment with strategic goals.
  • Change Management: Deals with change at a macro level, ensuring changes across projects are managed cohesively and do not negatively impact the overall program.

Individual Contributor Expectations

A subject matter expert within own discipline, guiding technical direction and leading collaborative, multi‑year assignments. Skills and Experience

  • Act as communication lead for large‑scale transformation programmes.
  • Manage stakeholders, set expectations and coordinate dependencies.
  • Plan programmes and coordinate effective dependencies.
  • Familiarity with scaled Agile ways of working and tools such as Jira.
  • Knowledge of data and records management.
  • Experience using AI to enhance and optimise business processes.
  • Assessment on key critical skills: risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job‑specific technical skills.
