Formula E is the world’s fastest‑growing sport, redefining motorsport with a bold focus on innovation and sustainability. It hosts over 100 races in iconic cities globally and works with leading manufacturers such as Porsche and Jaguar.
The Role
This position is offered on an independent‑contractor basis. The base location is flexible within the UK, Germany, Spain, and the Netherlands. Compensation is €100,000 base salary with a competitive on‑target earnings (OTE) bonus.
The Sales Director (Europe) is a high‑impact, dual‑purpose leadership role. You will not only lead a high‑performing region, you will also shape the commercial landscape of sustainable motorsport across Europe. You will act as the senior regional ambassador, bridging global strategy and local execution to ensure Formula E remains the premier platform for innovation and sport.
Responsibilities
- Ensure 100% delivery of cumulative revenue targets across all European races, identifying cross‑market opportunities to scale local partners across the continent.
- Identify, negotiate, and close significant local sponsorship and trackside activation deals, representing Formula E in press interviews, industry panels, and high‑profile ticketing launches.
- Lead a diverse team of In‑Market Sales Managers (across Berlin, Madrid, the UK, and beyond), driving accountability and professional development.
- Coordinate with Global Sales, Marketing, and Media teams to ensure all local activations align with global brand standards while respecting local business cultures.
- Act as the regional conduit for global brand initiatives, ensuring operational synergy across regions.
Qualifications
- Significant experience in a regional sales leadership role within sports, media, or entertainment, with a proven track record of closing sponsorship or activation deals.
- Extensive network of corporate contacts across major European markets.
- Strong remote team management skills; able to motivate and coach field‑based sales teams to over‑deliver on revenue targets.
- Exceptional communication skills, able to align diverse stakeholders including team principals, C‑suite executives, government ministers, and local agencies.
- Comfortable with frequent travel and the fast‑paced, unpredictable nature of a global racing calendar.
- Confidence, personability, and articulation in front of cameras and industry audiences.
