About the role

The post holder will be responsible for a range of financial administration tasks and support systems within their designated service area. This includes processing payments such as interim in lieu of benefits, income maintenance, grants and emergency payments, as well as setting up, receiving and making payments for goods and services.

The role also involves providing prompt, accurate and effective financial information and advice to carers, placements, colleagues, management, partner organisations and external agencies.

Key responsibilities

  • Processing and monitoring a range of payments, including interim, grant and emergency payments, and invoices for goods and services
  • Resolving payment discrepancies, including underpayments and overpayments
  • Using financial systems (including SAP, ContrOCC and other systems) to raise invoices, set up vendors, maintain records and process payments
  • Supporting financial processes, including income maintenance, grants, contracts and year-end activity
  • Contributing to financial and performance reporting, including provision of accurate financial data and statements
  • Maintaining spreadsheets and databases to support service delivery and reporting requirements
  • Liaising with colleagues, departments and external agencies to verify information and support financial processes
  • Communicating with clients and professionals to respond to enquiries and resolve issues in line with service procedures

About you

We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate the following:

  • Financial administrative experience, including using systems to input and extract information
  • Excellent IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel and data handling
  • Strong communication and customer service skills when working with a range of stakeholders
  • Excellent attentionto detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Knowledge of financial and information systems
