About the Role

We’re looking for a driven and commercially minded Defence Sales Executive to play a key role in growing our Defence Business Unit. This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role where you’ll convert strategy into action, driving new business, managing customer relationships, and supporting the delivery of commercial success across the Defence sector.

You’ll work closely with the Commercial Lead, Business Development team, and project teams, taking ownership of day‑to‑day commercial activity while helping shape future growth.

Key Responsibilities

Drive growth & win new business

  • Identify and engage new customers within the Defence sector
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline
  • Conduct outbound outreach (calls, LinkedIn, email)
  • Attend industry events and networking opportunities

Customer engagement & site activity

  • Visit customer sites to promote services and identify opportunities
  • Attend meetings, surveys, and performance reviews
  • Act as a brand ambassador, enhancing customer relationships

Commercial & estimating support

  • Manage enquiries from initial contact to quotation
  • Prepare proposals with internal teams
  • Follow up on quotes and progress opportunities
  • Maintain accurate CRM (HubSpot) records

Support strategic delivery

  • Execute key commercial initiatives (pricing, campaigns, account focus)
  • Work with Business Development on targeting and messaging
  • Monitor performance and provide feedback

Requirements

About You

  • A proactive and motivated sales professional
  • Confident building relationships and influencing stakeholders
  • Organised, disciplined, and commercially aware
  • Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment

Experience & Skills

  • Sales experience (B2B preferred)
  • Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
  • Ability to understand technical solutions and articulate value
  • Microsoft Office proficiency

Desirable

  • Experience in Defence or regulated sectors
  • Knowledge of procurement frameworks (e.g. JOSCAR)
  • Experience with CRM systems (HubSpot)
  • Ventilation or occupational hygiene knowledge (e.g. P601)
