Service Engineer (South East)
Location: Cheltenham, Gloucestershire
We are looking for a Service Engineer to join our team, responsible for the commissioning, servicing, and repair of company equipment. You will deliver high-quality customer support on-site, as well as provide training to customers, ensuring exceptional service standards and customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with service coordinators to ensure work is effectively planned and delivered
- Carry out commissioning, servicing, and repairs in line with contractual obligations
- Prepare thoroughly for service visits, ensuring all required documentation (e.g. drawings, manuals) is available
- Maintain appropriate stock levels to meet service agreement requirements
- Clearly communicate any outstanding issues to customers and outline next steps before leaving site
- Complete detailed job reports and obtain customer sign‑off
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery and customer experience
Experience
- Electrical or mechanical engineering background
- Experience working with relevant product ranges and systems
- Knowledge of steam processes and instrumentation (or similar technical environments)
Skills
- Recognised electrical or mechanical qualification
- Valid CSCS Engineering Services Skill Card / CCNSG (desirable)
- Full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and manage workload under pressure
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills
- Technical knowledge and problem‑solving capability
- Positive, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to work
