Job Description
- Lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers specialising in power systems, power conversion, automation, control and mechanical integration to ensure the overall solution meets customer, contract, quality and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical leadership, advice and assistance to the project team, including commissioning, service and third parties.
- Support the Project Manager and deputise for him/her when required.
- Plan and progress all design engineering activities, including testing and commissioning for specific projects.
- Monitor, control and manage engineering budgets, project documentation, risk management, design reviews and quality & change control in accordance with company guidelines.
- Support improvement initiatives and cost‑out plans in collaboration with other business units.
Responsibilities and Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should have experience in:
- An engineering leadership environment
- Application engineering in one or more fields, from power engineering, electrical drive systems, grid‑connected systems and automation.
- Specifying components: drives, motors, transformers, switchboards…
- Design and system integration on complex multidisciplinary projects.
- Any field of power generation, conversion, transmission and distribution.
- LV and MV variable‑speed drives and motors.
Personal qualities:
- Experience of owning the job, adding value beyond expectations.
- Capable of leading large multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to multi‑task on a variety of tasks to strict time scales.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, communication, presentation and facilitation skills.
- Customer‑centric mindset, experience in translating customer issues / needs into profitable business solutions.
Qualifications
Min degree in Electrical / Electronic Engineering or similar degree with suitable industry experience.
