Are you an experienced vet looking for a role that offers true work‑life balance, a supportive and friendly team, and the opportunity to shape the future of a much‑loved independent practice?

I am working with a respected small animal clinic located near the scenic Lickey Hills, just south of Birmingham. Established for over 20 years, this independent practice is known for its client‑first approach, continuity of care, and strong community ties. With a loyal client base and a reputation for going the extra mile, they have created an environment where team wellbeing is just as important as clinical excellence.

What’s on offer?

  • Full‑time over just 3 days per week (8:30 am‑7:00 pm)
  • Saturday mornings (8:30 am‑1:00 pm) on a rota
  • No OOH, no Sundays, no bank holidays
  • 20‑minute consults, with allocated time for admin, calls, and lunch
  • Flexible options available (e.g. 4‑day week)

You’ll be joining a tight‑knit, experienced clinical team including 5 RVNs, 1 SVN, and a knowledgeable client care team. They are also a nurse training practice, with a genuine commitment to ongoing learning and personal development.

There is real scope to grow into a leadership position, and even future partnership, for someone with the vision and motivation to help shape the next phase of the practice’s journey. You’ll work alongside other experienced vets who value collaboration and clinical freedom. If you have an interest in orthopaedics, there’s support available to develop this further.

Ideal candidate

  • Confident in routine first‑opinion small animal practice
  • A team player with excellent communication skills
  • Committed to providing personalised, high‑quality care
  • Interested in leadership or practice development (desirable but not essential)

The Package

  • A salary of £45,000 to £60,000, depending on experience
  • 5 weeks’ holiday, plus bank holidays
  • CPD encouraged, with certificates supported
  • Professional fees paid (RCVS and VDS)
  • Employee discount

If you’re looking for a role that values balance, community, and clinical integrity, we would love to hear from you.
