Job Description:

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of a multi‑million pound capital and revenue programme across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure and engineering projects.
  • Act as senior leader responsible for managing and developing a high‑performing contract team.
  • Ensure successful delivery of contract requirements for a range of internal clients, serving as a centre of excellence for construction and service contracts and their procurement.
  • Centralise the production, monitoring and administration of all contracts generated within the Highways and Engineering Service area, ensuring compliance with contract terms and procurement regulations, including performance criteria.

Qualifications

  • Experienced and driven Contracts Manager with a strong background in contract administration within highways, civil engineering or infrastructure environments.
  • Excellent knowledge of contracts such as ECC NEC4, TSC NEC4, JCT and PSC.
  • Full, valid driving licence and willingness to travel throughout the county borough as required.

Location & Working Arrangements

The permanent full‑time position is based at Llys Cadwyn, Pontypridd. It operates on a hybrid model, allowing work from the office, home and at construction sites as required. Employment hours are 37 hours a week under a flexible working scheme, with 26 days annual leave (rising to 31 days after five years). The role offers participation in the Local Government Pension Scheme, a staff benefits card and access to a Council pool vehicle.
