Title: Groundworks Contracts Manager
Salary: Up to £100,000
Location: Colchester, Essex
We are working with a well-established and growing groundworks contractor who is looking to appoint an experienced Groundworks Contracts Manager to support the long-term growth and delivery of their projects division.
This is a senior leadership position suited to an individual with strong technical knowledge, operational management experience, and proven man‑management skills within the groundworks and civil engineering sector.
The role will be predominantly office‑based, with regular site visits as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the operational delivery of multiple groundworks projects
- Work closely alongside the Managing Groundworks Surveyor
- Oversee site teams, programme performance, and operational standards
- Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
- Provide technical support and leadership across projects
- Manage client relationships and coordinate with subcontractors and internal teams
- Support the continued growth and structure of the groundworks division
Requirements
- Strong background within groundworks and civil engineering
- Proven operational leadership or senior management experience
- Excellent technical understanding of residential and commercial groundworks
- Strong communication and team management skills
- Ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously
- Long‑term mindset with ambitions to help develop and lead a growing division
